About Our Church

St. Andrews Presbyterian Church is located on the northern edge of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The church has served the surrounding community since its founding in 1958. In July 1958, the work of organizing a new church in the Stanleyville-Pine Brook area was started. Before land was donated by the W. E. Graham family for our church to be built upon, services were held in a renovated former milk house on Oak Summit Farm owned by Mr. Graham. Ministers and laymen of other churches in the Presbytery joined in the work of preparing the temporary location for worship services. The first regular service was held Sunday, September 7,1958.

Faithful and Fruitful...St. Andrews celebrates it's 50th

birthday this year!

As part of the celebration, our congregation is participating in individual and group projects that we call "Marks of Commitment". These projects are a way we can witness to our community and world our faith and gratitude to God for the many blessings He has given us.

Five church-wide projects have been chosen and approved by our Session.

First, is the construction of a picnic shelter that will be built next to the church fellowship hall. This shelter will be 20' X 40' and will include 8 picnic tables. Completion of this project is projected between the middle and end of June---hopefully by the time of Vacation Bible School. This project falls under the Building & Grounds Committee with an estimated cost of $40,000.00.

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth.....

Third, is the construction of a church in Honduras. We have helped this church in the past. The current location is close to a river and there have been some road blocks. We wish to support their efforts in the completion of this church and help in furthering God's kingdom. This project falls under the Witness & Service Committee at a cost of $5,000.00.

The Fourth Project involves monetary donations towards the refurbishment of Lloyd's Presbyterian Church in Winston-Salem. This church was established after the Civil War and is the second oldest African-American church in Forsyth County. Even though membership has declined the doors are open for service and the community is served. This project also falls under the Witness and Service Committee. At this time an allotted amount has not been determined.
